With distinctive frilly leaves similar to the Green Coral variety, Red Coral Lettuce (also known as Lollo Rossa) adds colour, texture and volume to salads. Its bright colours and mild, earthy taste are best showcases when fresh. The ruffled leaves also catch more salad dressing than many other lettuce varieties.
Red Coral Lettuce is high in Vitamin A, folate, fibre, iron, beta-carotene (which is beneficial for eye health) and also contains antioxidants. Red Coral contains more vitamin K, while the Green Coral variety usually contains more Vitamin C.
